Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion is a lightweight, non-greasy moisturiser designed to soothe dry skin, and leave it feeling suppler and smoother.
The lotion works by enhancing the skin’s natural moisture retention, forming a protective layer on the skin’s surface to trap more water, and to slow its evaporation rate. This has a rehydrating effect, which can soothe itchy, sore, or irritating skin.
It is designed not to clog pores and to be easily absorbed into the skin. It can be used on sensitive and normal skin, by adults and children. Though it claims to be fragrance-free, it should be pointed out that it contains farnesol, which is a product usually added for its fragrance. It should not be a problem for most types of skin, but it is worth to consider if your skin is very sensitive.
Dry skin results from lack of moisture in the upper layers of cells. This problem can be made worse by some standard soaps and detergents. Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion does not contain the chemicals that can strip essential oils from the skin and worsen irritation.
Flaky, scaly, and sore skin resulting from psoriasis and dry skin, may improve with regular use of this product.
